Don't Forget Yesterday's Innovators - Adler & Maslow

In his October 9th, 2011 New York Times article, "Where Are Tomorrow's Innovators," David Brooks comments on the recent absence of signficant technical and medical innovation in the United States, as well as a general absence of inspiring utopian visions. In the field of psychology, we have to look back to the 1930s to Alfred Adler, and to the 1960s to Abraham Maslow for inspiring visions of optimal human functioning. Both were visionaries way before their times. Maybe some day we can catch up to what they suggested decades ago.
